Here at Path To Rhythm we are enjoying the change of the season and preparing for summer. We are celebrating a milestone event as we are experiencing achieving the goal of expansion and bringing in additional facilitators to lead programs this summer. There will be a total of four crews working this summer, and each crew will have a lead facilitator and an assistant.
Last week I lead a training for all of the facilitators to hone our skills in leading drumming programs, understanding summer camp culture, and reinforcing the mission of Path To Rhythm:
““The mission of Path To Rhythm Group Drumming Programs is to provide excellent management of each group, and consistently strive for full engagement so that each participant may experience the power of group drumming and connection through rhythm.”
In addition, I brought in Master Drummer, Yahaya Kamate, to work with us and inspire us to learn West African rhythms from Ivory Coast. I am a committed life long student of drumming, and I know that I am a better teacher for it. This learning helps me to improve on my craft. Expansion of knowledge!
I am honored and humbled to know that Path To Rhythm will reach and drum with close to 10,000 campers this summer.
